bound or unbound..

Life in its broadest sense is crucial… When faced with problems and atrocities, one usually asks, “Is this what destiny can offer me?” We sometimes do not want to recognize our shortcomings, afraid to take the risk of whether to make the move or not, and as a defense for the wrong choices we’ve made, we blame it on something else – fate.

According to a philosophy of Oriental View, “those who live of gentle submissiveness to the cosmic powers flowing in the universe allow these powers to control their destiny.” These persons make the most of their time achieving by consulting first and conforming to the dictates of the horoscope, fortune tellers, and many other ways of forecasting the future. With the kind of satisfaction and security they receive, they are not aware that they no longer provide themselves the autonomy set before them – the right to self will.

While it is true that God has a specific plan and purpose for our existence that does not mean that we’ll just sit down and wait whatever may happen. No one knows what He has prepared for us. We really have to work for it. The things we enjoy and nourish at present are the ones revealed while the best remains unknown. What lies ahead are yet to be unraveled. It is a good thing for those who view life as a constant struggle for the ultimate end.

We all share the same ideals; we keep on acquiring knowledge in pursuit of bright future. We should not cease to seek opportunities so that we will have a worthwhile existence. We should not resent failure because it brings new hope and success.

Our future depends on what we did and who we were when we were young. All we need to do is to plan ahead, set goals and seek for ourselves what is in store for us. Still, we are held responsible for our lives for we are the ones who shape our future, provided we anticipate things beyond our control. And soon we will realize that the key to a happy life is to embark on our sound decisions.
